I really love working with students here at Centennial Park School, my home away from home! Teaching is not what I originally envisioned for myself when I was in college in my early 20’s. Business seemed my pathway to a career, but after working in several schools, teaching seemed so much more interesting than working behind the scenes in an office, so I returned to Portland State University when my own children were in school and completed my Master’s in Education. I’ve taught so many different things over the years – Spanish, Geology, Sewing, US History, Language Arts, Geography, Global Studies, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and the list goes on and on. It’s one of the things I love about my job here, and that is the opportunity to learn right along with the students. My current passion is Mathematics, one of my favorite things to teach. I’ve been married to the same man for 37 years, and we have two children, and now three grandchildren. Many of my former students continue to stay in touch, and it is so fun to see them grow and become responsible adults. I can’t imagine doing any other kind of work!
