Teaching at CPS since 1997 had been a privilege and a pleasure. For many years I taught a combined 7th and 8th grade class. However, in the fall of 2015 I transitioned to teaching 9th-12th graders. I enjoy working with students in our culinary arts program, helping students learn algebra, encouraging students to be physical in P.E., and developing their skills as a reader. Students and I also engage in service learning at the local food bank, and explore the environment of Portland and the Columbia River Gorge.
I am a native of Portland, but have traveled throughout the U.S., Asia, and Europe. My alma mater is the University of Puget Sound where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies, and a minor in religion. Later, I attended Portland State University, where I received my teaching endorsement.
Away from school, I spend time outdoors, practice yoga, read, and enjoy the company of family and friends.
