Portland has been my home since 1999 and I love it. After your first conversation with me you will probably ask, “Where are your from?” The answer is Griffin, Georgia, a small town about one hour south of Atlanta. This is my 21st year as a certified teacher, but I also worked as an Educational Assistant for 3 years while I was in college. Currently I’m one of the two Learning Specialist here at CPS.
Griffin Georgia is a hot place with lots of Stathams, mosquitoes, ticks, ants, snakes and high humidity. I lived there in the same house and same bedroom for 21 years. I’m the youngest of 6 kids and my five siblings and I are very close and talk/text often. Every year we have a blast spending time at my brothers house in South Carolina for the 4th of July.
I have wonderful wife that I’ve been been married to for 16 years and I’m the father of two boys ages 11 and 13. Along with the two dogs and one cat, we have a very busy house. Our favorite thing to do together as a family is to go camping and eating ice cream. We also treasure taking a trip almost every year to Maine to visit family and friends.
I’ve worked in many schools and this is my first year at CPS. It is apparent from my first week at CPS that this is a special place that keeps the needs of all students a focus.
